The Fulacht Fia Chairde Ghaillimh le Gaeilge took place in Builín Blasta in Ceardlann an Spidéil last week. It was the Fulacht Fia’s first time to move outside of Galway city and it was a great success. During the event, Cairde Gaillimh le Gaeilge enjoyed strolling among the beautiful craft shops in the Ceardlann. The wonderful Emer Killian and her fantastic team served delicious food, (all as Gaeilge) the guests were entertained with excellent music by Mike Stewart and Maria Fahy.

Fine Gael Councillor Eddie Hoare has this week received confirmation that the National Transport Authority will be completing a review of the Galway city bus routes in April. As part of the review there will be public consultation.

JPC off to rocky start as councillors feel ‘untrusted’

This week’s meeting of the Joint Policing Committee of Galway City Council got off to a stormy start when councillors complained that they felt untrusted by Gardai because the crime stats reports normally furnished before a meeting would not be circulated until afterwards.
